The history of TRIANGEL began back in 2012, when the first contact was established between the Association of Düsseldorf Artists; est.1844, and the Foundation Transport Kultury. The biggest realization of this artistic dialogue so far took place last year in August in Krakow, where, at the invitation of the Foundation Transporter Kultury, 16 German artists went to Krakow to participate in the Polish-German Art Biennial CUBE. It was a wonderful and eventful time for them, during which many contacts were made and friendships were formed. And as we know: Friendships must be cultivated! So involved members of the VdDK 1844 have decided to invite directly in the following year 2017 the Krakow side now to NRW. With this idea, the association approached the Polish Institute Düsseldorf and the Kulturforum Alte Post Neuss to continue the artistic festival together as a TRIANGEL.
In the SITTart Gallery (VdDK,1844) there will be a photo documentation of the exchange so far since 2012 and original works by the participants. In the Polish Institute Düsseldorf, selected works of Polish and German artists will enter into a dialogue in five rooms, and in the Kulturforum Alte Post Neuss you will have the opportunity to see installations and works, some of which were created within four days on site in the joint work of all artists*.
